The best thing the government could do would be to take back ownership of energy companies and run them for the benefit of the people.

So now with the LNP.... toss a coin....heads we privative.... tails we nationalise!😊

Aren't the LNP the promoters of free market capitalism? Isn't that exactly what's happening? Isn't the privatisation of our assets a priority on their agenda? I believe we told them this would be the outcome of privatisation. What the heck did they expect? Fools!

Anti privatisation at last.

Good

Federal Liberals/National,when talking to take on the big guys, the evidences are clearly they are hard only on Unions/workers.is not Worksafe more corrupt then Union.C Watch Dog no jurisdiction to investigate Worksafe/OH&S breach Bosses, neither is Ombudsman investigate Worksafe.

That's their job, make profits. Else you should have not privatized them. No use complaining now.

This is one of the best reasons NEVER to vote for the LNP again! They shoved privatisation down our collective throats saying it would increase competition & reduce prices as a result. The subtext here was always 2 give their corporate mates a leg up at the nation’s expense...1/2

So much for the capitalist, free enterprise system.

The Coalition would collectivise farming if it thought it would avoid an electoral collapse next year.

they sold off power networks n generators n corps r gouging us Just like airport tax Our landing charge is 3x more than Honolulu Decrepit airport full of shops n cafes n d aerobridge never work

LOL, capitalism has failed in electricity, it is failing in telecommunications, it has failed in banking, in medical services, in aged care & superannuation. The greed of boards, shareholders and management has driven this. Needs to be a return to capping or nationalising.

If only there was some way for essential services to be maintained as public assets...

Thanks to the LNP for privatising our electricity suppliers and turning them from service driven, publicly owned assets, to privately owned profit driven entities. Electricity has never been less reliable or less affordable. Well done Jeff Kennett and Co.

& who sold our public utilities to private enterprise? The bloody Pollies that’s who!

Market forces baby. The proposed step sound a little sovereign risk to me. So much for the party of free markets. This sounds a little Soviet to me.

I don't understand how a government can tell private industry what they can charge for their services

Remember Morrison boasting about the savings after selling off and privatization of the power assetts . What a disgraceful effort . Lies and corruption of our nation .

That's what private companies do. making profit. Duh! The LNP has advocated privitisation and the neoclassical idea that a private company can run this and other essential services better than govt.... auspol DON'T LET THEM NEAR HEALTH AND EDUCATION
