“I fell in love with mining after attending a career expo when I was still in high school. That’s when I was convinced that mining was the only career suitable for me. Also, having enjoyed physical science and mathematics, I saw mining as a perfect fit. At the time, I wanted to break the stereotypes that mining was not for women and to also be the first person in my family to venture in a different route,” she said.
The qualification allows different positions within the mining sector, including blasting engineer; environmental, safety and health manager; mine manager; mine design engineer; mineral resources manager; project manager; and rock engineer.As a mine manager, Moloi is responsible for the overall management of operations.
