Japan is set to promise some $30 billion in aid for African development at a conference to be held in Tunisia this weekend, the Sankei Shimbun daily reported on Friday.

The aid, which will centre around developing human resources in order to promote economic growth, will be announced at the Tokyo International Conference on African Development by Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who will be taking part in the conference online since he is recovering from COVID-19, the paper added.

Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi will be attending the conference and is set to meet with his Tunisian counterpart on Friday ahead of the main conference.

When I become Pres of this country I will stop all from help my south Africa

Why Japan pledge to help us? Don't they hv same problem like us? Tomorrow will be US🤔

Japanese have always been the most intelligent & sophisticated of all the Asian groups. They were the only Asian country to protest Black Hate. Japanese should do quite well in Africa.

It's appalling! African leaders and they continued subversions from foreign donors. Isn't there enough cash in the AfricanUnion to aid ourselves. Shame! What is Japan buying that China hasn't exploited, the British, Americans! This has to stop.

But people are dying of hunger in china

The useless african leaders always aid receivers and misuse it

Group of looters.

Promise is the same as pledge and we know from Amber what that means.

The worst thing I hate about this is all these single countries trying to help the entire continent! Throwing money NEVER solves the problem! YOU remove colonial tax, nonsensical debt incurred due to high interest rate! Trade restrictions stifle growth and foreign looting
