Elon Musk appears to be closer to completing his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter than at any point since he first said the deal was “on hold” nearly five months ago.

But it’s not a done deal yet. Musk earlier this week sent a letter to Twitter\n \n proposing to move forward with the acquisition at the original price of $54.20 per share and suggesting the litigation over his initial effort to exit the deal be dropped. Twitter\n \n replied saying it had received the letter and plans to close the deal on the originally agreed upon terms.

” Musk had been set to be deposed starting Thursday, according to a notice of deposition made public earlier this week. However, court filings released Wednesday suggest that Musk may have been trying to avoid deposition. In a letter to the judge dated Sept. 27, lawyers for Twitter said that Musk had agreed “after long resistance” to a two-day deposition starting on Sept. 28, but pulled out, citing “Covid exposure risk.

This twitter deal is bad deal.... Why would elon do that....that company was riding the hype. Twitter isnt worth that much money and we all know it. elonmusk

When he found out kicking and stamping your feet wasn’t enough and to bail out would include discovery and deposition, he decided $44B would hurt less.

Hopefully he rolls back the insane and leftist leaning censorship and returns it to a free speech platform. I also hope the CNN follows suit
