Tenants 'will be evicted by vulture funds' if landlords leave the market as a result of any eviction ban, the IPOA has warned.

"We would be completely opposed to an eviction ban," she said."We don't think it serves anybody."Landlords are not immune to the cost of living either; rental incomes have been capped at 2% for the last number of years, inflation has gone up, mortgage interest rates have gone up.

"What's going to happen is landlords are going to go into arrears, mortgages are not being paid, and then the tenants are going to be evicted by the vulture funds who take over the houses - and it's a lot worse.""If I decided that I was evicting a tenant today, they have until the 8th of April to find somewhere."Where are we suddenly going to get all these houses; we need to just sit together and work to see what we can do.

"There's nothing to be served here, it's just the Government getting a bit of publicity to be seen to be doing something for renters.""Landlords are paying mortgages, they're paying Revenue, they're paying any of the unexpected costs that come up with regards to repairs, damage to a property. An estate agent in Dublin city specialising in the rental market. Moratorium,on large funds buying muck needed housing stock, on mass.

When landlords leave the market, don't the houses still remain?

How can it be that everyone but the government know this...unless?

Of course they will

Utter rubbish regarding Vulture's taking over and evicting. This is typical scaremongering ..

This is why I left the market the more the state gets involved the more landlords leave but don't worry folks Kennedy Wilson loan star rea and all the big funds will rent to u at 3k a month for a shoe box don't hate player hate the game

'Landlords are being made scapegoats here - the whole problem is that the Government have not provided enough social housing over the last number of years. '& people that are in private housing should be in social housing, & the Government have failed to provide these houses'

Surely the impact of a ban will be felt only by those who are likely to be evicted over the coming months! A few landlords who were planning on selling or upgrading will just have to put their plans on hold for a few months. The vast majority of landlords are unaffected..

FFFGG have created a system which screws you no matrer what.

😂 Do they perhaps mean VENTURE FUNDS 🤪

Let me think …… They can’t evict me …….. Shall I pay the rent ……… They can’t evict me ……. Mmm,mmm,mmm,mmmmm 😜

Is there a distinct difference between landlord and vulture fund?

Not really a ban then, false, misleading, misinformation, bullshit no news crap

What happens is, tenants stop paying. The local landlord who has this property as their pension fund. They still have to pay the mortgage. But they have no rights and the tenants don't care

In other news Justice Minster smashes the gate clean off its hinges at breakneck speed to remind 'Paddy the Pig'- that 'no non white'people will be evicted and not to worry coz cloimate change means warmer winters on the pavers anyways and also to count your blessings.

Darragh O'Brien may decide on 'no evictions' for at least Christmas Day. It seems the Government are worried; there may not be enough stables in the country.
