Workers affiliated to the United National Transport Union and the South African Transport and Allied Workers Union are demanding wage increases of between twelve and thirteen percent. Nxesi says the economic implications of the strike will be severe if it is not resolved as soon as possible. He says parties must continue to engage in good faith until a solution is reached.
Maybe time the minister's and other government officials stop giving themselves increases and added benefits while expecting workers not to get anything or very little... Typical ANC self gratification at the expense of everyone else..watch the country burn and collapse ..
12% is quite unreasonable. 7.6% should be acceptable. Trade union leaders are sedicious.
The minister must take sides towards workers as a communist and pretend not knowing what capitalism is all about.
