MELAKA: The Sessions Court on Thursday (Oct 13) fined a director of a company dealing in electronics and electrical appliances RM8,000 for selling uncertified communication equipment.

Judge Nariman Badruddin meted out the sentence on Chong Hui Yee, 38, after the woman pleaded guilty to the charge. She paid the fine.

Chong and her company, Leader Electronic & Electrical Trading Sdn Bhd, both unrepresented, were charged with selling communication equipment, namely Huiyishun Audio Video Sender YS-100, that was not certified as required under the Communications and Multimedia Regulations 2000. The offence was committed at No. 60, Jalan Kota Laksamana 4, Taman Kota Laksamana at noon on Sept 4, 2020.
