When leaders take time off — and actually disconnect from work — they set an example for their employees."They pay closer attention to what their manager does and potentially what other team members do," Zimmerman said. Snapbar's paid time off is based on tenure, and Eitzen said his employees average four to five weeks off per year. They also get three or four"big-picture days" throughout the year to take breaks and reset.
