The course has been redesigned and renovated by Larsen Golf.

The renovated St. Johns Golf Club is scheduled to be unveiled with a grand opening ceremony at 1 p.m. Nov. 29.Larsen, a Ponte Vedra Beach resident and former executive vice president of Arnold Palmer Golf Design Company,– from feasibility study to planning and finalization. The physical work started at the beginning of the year with the course closed to play.

The St. Johns Golf Club is located in the 550-home Cypress Lakes subdivision, two miles west of Interstate 95. “This course is one of the real jewels of St. Johns County,” said Henry Dean, the chair of the St. Johns County Commission, in the release. “It’s a wonderful amenity and the public has demonstrated that, with about 35% of the rounds coming from out of the county. We were able to fund this not from the general ad valorem tax that affects homeowners, but to utilize the 7 million visitors per year that we see here.
