After years of rapid growth, the U.S. cannabis industry is showing signs of fatigue amid challenging economic conditions and growing pains.

In some of the most mature legal cannabis markets across the U.S., sales are declining after surging earlier in the pandemic.

In states with established marijuana markets such as Oregon and Washington, sales at retail outlets and dispensaries have declined from a year ago, according to afrom cannabis data firm Headset. In Colorado, one of the country's most established markets, sales in June were down 11.4% from a year ago.

Between March 2020 and March 2021, average monthly year-over-year sales were up 25.8% in Colorado, according to Headset. But as the pandemic began easing last summer, the report found, both the frequency of marijuana purchases and the amount of money people spent began declining.

I have a little knowledge in this. The problem is, why would I go to a dispensary that's opening in NY and pay 115 - 120 a quarter when I can buy from the same person Ive been buying from for 60 a quarter? People can grow primo herb at home or in a greenhouse.

These states are bringing in some big revenue off of legalization.

It's slow because everyone is trying to sell it and the prices are not reasonable...if everyone is selling marijuana, who's gonna buy it?!
