US President Joe Biden on Thursday announced billions of dollars in additional humanitarian assistance to address acute food insecurity in Africa, which is facing a bigger and more complex food crisis than ever before.

The United States pledged an additional $2.5 billion in emergency assistance and medium- to long-term food security assistance for resilient African food systems and supply markets, the White House said in a statement.

“Today, famine once more stalks the Horn of Africa. High food prices and high trade barriers are taking a toll on the lives and livelihoods of millions of people across the continent.” But the situation was aggravated by a pandemic-provoked economic downturn, rising debt levels and, more recently, the fallout from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which is partly responsible for food, fuel and fertiliser price spikes.

And they wonder why China is favoured in Africa.. China don't do pity donations but real infrastructure investments that are crucial and needed for development US comes with its crumbs from dinner they had last night and charming words of all love...Hai

African countries should look after themselves. Doesn't he have homeless people to get off the street/ reduce taxes for citizens, build more attractions,Improve intelligence, infrastructure etc Something that will benefit it's people

Is that the reason US is sanctioning every Russian ship docking in our African shores, e.g.South African-Russian LadyR issue? Patronistic US forgets we are neutral in Russio-Ukraine War and no amount of bribery and patronization will deviate our disposition on that matter...

Africa drowns itself in mineral wealth and all types of resources yet it's people are the poorest, always seeking AID? Africa faces a leadership crisis, 54 colonial clowns begging america for aid instead of demanding TRADE 🤡🤮🤒🤒

We don't need Biden money.

When will africa wake up and rid itself from neocolonialism?

Africa continuously needs donations to feed its people, we will never trade equally with these people

ZERO WASHINGTON DC INFLUENCE ON AFRICA'S SOIL, BE CAREFUL OF THAT BILLION LOLIPOP

Nonsense

Africans with trillions and trillions of natural resource reserves still begging for humanitarian aid👀. We are a joke of the world indeed.

All thanks to irin_malash who introduced me into binary options and told me how I can start earning on a weekly basis and I decided to give it a try and I’ve been earning over R30,000 weekly. I never thought it was real but irin_malash you’re God sent🙏

irin_malash Choices made plays a better role in giving lives meaningful outcomes, I knew the moment I gave it a try, positive results as expected as I invested R5,000 and got back R35,000 irin_malash been doing well thanks

It all started with a word to try something new. My first payment came after 3days when I invested R5,000 with irin_malash and since then I have received countless payments, she is worthy to be recommended

Let me get this straight🤔, US steals billion of African resources, destabilizes, even decimates African countries(eg Libya), then gives a fraction of it back in so called 'humanitarian assistance'(GMO mRNA foods), that we'll have to pay back with more resources...

The fat cats in sub saharan african governments and their friends will eat all of it ✊🏿

There is no free money around, we in Africa don’t need biased assistance, whatsoever, we need investment for creating jobs. That is the best for security. So far, no country out there has been developed by assistance, it rather increases poverty and violence. No to assistance.

Wow
