Metro had been trying to encourage a joint investigation of the leak with Acciona, but while the Spanish company considered it, it ultimately decided not to do so. Once its internal investigation was complete, it was Acciona who brought the incident to Metro Vancouver’s attention, the company noted. Acciona said that seven months later Metro has not shared information about how municipal policies govern management of confidential information, whether those policies were followed, and what kind of corrective steps have been taken to address disclosure by civil servants.
