Overall consumer spending on game hardware, content and accessories in December hit $7.6 billion, an increase of 2% compared to 2021, with hardware sales up 16%, offsetting a 1% drop in content sales and a 2% fall in accessories sales.
December’s figures took overall consumer spending on hardware, content and accessories in 2022 to $56.6 billion, which was down 5% compared to a year earlier.Console and PC software sales declined 7.1% compared to 2021 “Gains in spending in hardware and subscription content were offset by declines across other areas of spending,” said NPD analyst Mat Piscatella.
“Factors impacting 2022 spending included continued supply constraints of console hardware, a relatively light slate of new premium releases, and macroeconomic conditions.”
EmperorLemon How does it feel knowing your desperate anti-Nintendo video didn’t work? 🤣
Whaatt😯😯
The Switch has been the best selling console almost every year. It’s probably the 3rd best selling system ever behind the DS and PS2. Nintendo would be very stupid to not make the next system backwards compatible at this point. Then again, sounds like a Nintendo move to me lol
Because you couldn’t find a PS5, and nobody really wanted an XBox🤷🏽♂️
It was the only one available last year😂 Great console tho
Maybe it's because it's the only system you can find on store shelves on the regular. Occasionally I see an Xbox Series S, but Series X and PS5 are online order only.
hooray
Most people I know either have one or are going to get it.
Too bad about that Switch Killer tho
This is great but I hope Nintendo's next console/hybrid/handheld goes for having at least the same power as PS4. I think technology will advance enough where you could have that power portably, cheaper, and with great battery life.
Of course it's best selling. It's the most accessible console to get. They need a better version. The last few major titles have performed abysmally on the switch.
want there a shortage of PS5 and X consoles last year?
It was available with great games
Playstation has no exclusives. Xbox has no exclusives. Switch has exclusives. Simple as that.
It’s time for this fossil to go
I think that has a lot more to do with the still herculean task of finding a PS5 or new Xbox
Good for them. I own all 3 so im not fan boying but my switch is the go to for playing games with my wife were about to kick ass on smash bros online after we watch one more episode of red dwarf
As it should be Nintendo is the best company in the gaming industry Sony and Microsoft wish they could be as good as the Big N
Not surprised it’s been selling well around the globe.
Because PS5 don't actually exist.
Correction, hand-held console, get it right.
Yup… Fun games like Yum Yum CookstarYumYum but more importantly it’s more affordable. Xbox and PS5 are a lot more expensive!!!
Cheapest more available system
It's unstoppable.
And first party games this year is already super hype. I love my Switch. I play my PC more, but my Switch travels with me, and let's face it, Xbox exclusives are on PC and PS exclusives come to PC eventually. The only console worth having for exclusives is a Switch.
Probably bc it’s nearly impossible to get any other system.
So, this explains your SHIT of review for Fire Emblem Engage.
I was ready for 4k 120fps HDR gaming but then I realized big consoles are getting just a handful of new games a year so I'm pretty happy with PS4-level graphics.
Let's see them do that This year lol 3rd party support's pretty much done with the Switch so, the end is Near... 2024 for the Win🥳
Guess the dead of Switch is overblown lol.
Usual news
'Handheld' that can hook up to a display.
It been the best selling since 2018
Sadly no upgrade for the switch, huh ? If there can't be a docked only switch or a switch pro or something Nintendo could at least make just another upgrade to the current switch, right ?
And that's why there's not a switch pro and new games run like ass. People are just gonna keep buying whatever they make anyway.
Ponies told me the PS5 was 'king' of 2022 😂
But the PC master race told me the switch was on the brink of death and Nintendo were about to die….they wouldn’t lie would they?….
I can see why
FTC 👀
Oh yeah we aren’t seeing a Switch Pro for another decade LOL. They vibing
😂
did gamevice lose nintendo switch lawsuit
