The Chinese-owned video app TikTok has been banned from government-issued phones in the US, Canada and the EU.The company says it has not been given the chance to answer questions before the ban was put in place.
TikTok is used by two-thirds of American teens, but there is concern in Washington that China could use its legal and regulatory powers to obtain private user data or to try to push misinformation or narratives favouring China. China has long blocked a long list of foreign social media platforms and messaging apps, including YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
The Chinese government should respect the principles of market economy and fair competition, stop suppressing the companies and provide an open, fair and non-discriminatory environment for foreign companies in China.
How ironic considering that very same app is illegal in China.
Says the country who bans: Facebook Twitter Google Wikipedia . . . And TikTok
And also that the American politicians are so hysterical and hypocritical.
Boy, have they got it all wrong. If there is any country on this planet surer of itself than the USA I have yet to find it. Sounds like a mirror statement.
Guys, proof read your stuff
Sure, the only thing we can be sure of is CCP interference around the world.
China ban twitter Facebook is because they do have tons of anti govt contents against Chinese government, we all know that, would be fool to let them make money while demanding regime change. How many evidence showing tiktok contents anti US government and demand regime change
This is a weird thing to do to even comment on it. What access to phones does tiktok have that warrants the public intervention by Chinese gov?
Copy and paste from AAP. Carefully picked BIASED report
And of course SBS backs the CCP🤦♂️
And tiktok is also banned in China.
They're banning them from government devices. Your work device is for work, no office device should have games or TikTok or other non-work apps. Tempest in a teapot.
