ESKOM LIVE | Stage 4 extended as repairs are delayed and another 5 units break down

Stage 4 load shedding will be implemented from 16:00 on Sunday until 05:00 on Tuesday morning, Eskom said on Sunday.

At the moment the law applies specifically to strategic infrastructure projects- our learnings from the process is that if necessary- we could issue direction for those processes to be more generally applied.- Lameez OmarjeePhaahla makes a disclaimer though that no one has yet to come forward and reported deaths, at home or in hospitals.Phaahla says so far there have not been any direct links between hospital deaths and load shedding.

"What we are currently doing, is we are looking at developing directions that would enable expedited procedural requirements for requiring environmental authorisation." For example, allowing a process to be followed similar to a basic assessment. Also shortening timelines for submissions of applications and reports. These projects would be in front of the queue – ahead of others during the state of disaster.

But that number is set to rise significantly very soon, when Eskom is explicitly excused from following any of the rules intended to protect water, air, and wildlife. The briefing will be led by the Minister in the Presidency, Mondli Gungubele, Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and Minister of Health, Joe Phaahla.

Mantshantsha joined Eskom in 2020 after a long career in journalism, including as a financial reporter with News24.

How come these units brake down 5 at a time or 8 at a time does anybody at ESKOM know how to do any thing?

eskomsalaryshedding , the highest paid sector in the country and they cannot fix a thing or keep it running let try this: stage 2,3,4 30% salary cut. stage 5,6,7 40% salary cut. Stage 8 upwards 55% salary cut see how quickly they fix this problem! Then governmentsalaryshedding

😂🤣😂🤣

These guys must have thousands of units😂

Stage 4 on a Sunday means stage 6 on Monday

So who broke the 5 units then Stik Sabotage? or a pretence to cover up the fact that sabotage stopped when ANC / Eskom syndicates were. exposed.

Just do us all a favour and close down, we can sell the power stations for scrap

Stage 5 coming soon !!!! , this is revolution ,as we know it ,against us , citizens ....

ANC after a freshly baked breakdown.

another weekend, another sabotage spree. my, they ARE slow on the uptake 🐌

We all know what '5 units break down' (all at the same time) means... 5 units were sabotaged. It's a free for all.

When are they going to repair the ANC?

Eskom thinks they set the loadshedding stages. Ha ha. Cartel comrade decides on loadshedding stages.

Du Ruyter was correct. Sabotage and corruption. This cartels money train is running everyday

Mxm

Must be same saboteurs... on duty every weekend doing their worst

Time has come to keep ANC Comrades far away from Eskom

Isn't it just amazing how repairs are delayed & more units break down? When will we citizens demand to see the visual proof of this instead of just sitting here accepting it When will we stand together including big businesses & stop this?

Did anyone tell the maintenance team to fix shit instead of dismantling it?

CyrilRamaphosa MYANC this is gonna keep happening until all the corrupt politicians and the cartel has been removed. ANC needs to be removed From power, they cannot be allowed to destroy our country anymore. South Africans needs to unite and vote them out!! ancmustbevotedout

Happy days 🤑🤑🤑

As they prepare a red carpet for the incoming minister of electricity

The breakdowns are the equivalent of the Boogeyman at this point. 🤨

Eskom_SA CyrilRamaphosa uselessness

What a government we have. 🤡

Same shite different day🙄

You meant to say sabotaged

They have a bad habit of behaving in this manner more especially on weekends!!!

They're lying! Why do you parrot it?

They didn't brake down, they where not maintained

Can't be too many units left to breakdown!

We all know now what breaks those units down don't we? Fake coal sold to you Eskom_SA ? And you do nothing about it

I thought this would had stop since ADR is gone since he didnt know his job, but seems it only get worse

They got these units from pep stores or what

Ah..ofcourse! Right on schedule! The Eskom mafia 'must eat a little bit'

AG KAK MAN ESKOM VOKEN LIEG HET ELKE DAG DIE SELFDE DONNERSE VERSKONINGS WANEER GAAN DIE KAK EIND KRY ENOEG IS ENOEG SA RAAK GATVOL WAARS AL DIS BEWYSE UHU WAAR ?

No surprise. We getting used to the incompetence.

We’ll be stage 6 as Cyril prepares to announce his shuffle

These breakdowns are manufactured by an Eskom_SA Mafia, that is run by MYANC ministers. CyrilRamaphosa knows who these masterminds are.

These units have a tendency of breaking down on Sunday afternoon when the mind is shifting focus to midweek…

Does anyone even beleive Eskom anymore? Think its all BS!

What broke it?

😂😂😂

Scrap it off. Too costly to run.

Another problem, not solution

It's endless, isn't it. Perhaps the govt should designate an electricity minster per unit

How long must we deal with this incompetency
