Five former employees of a Manitoba trucking company have filed a human rights complaint saying were discriminated against because they were foreign workers.

Three of the workers came to Canada under a closed work permit through Manitoba's provincial nominee program, which meant they could only stay in Canada as long as they were working at Gladstone Transfer.

All the people in the jail system, all the people not doing nothing on the streets and we depend on international workers to pick our food. Pathetic. On top of that they get treated like garbage. Once again pathetic.

adriana1550 CBC needs to identify the type of Visa held by the litigant.

Did they sign a contract before they began their employment? Did they read the details of the contract ? It would be interesting to see the details.

Temporary foreign workers are here to do the jobs we don't want to. In trucking you start out with crap trucking Jobs. Then you work your way up to the jobs these guys are talking about. Those jobs don't need temporary foreign workers. They pay well and are sought after

That is literally what the job is. I've been in the trucking industry for over three decades. If you don't like it then you have to either stay with that company for a decade or so or find a trucking job in a different industry.
