Electricity minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa says the issues plaguing various power stations he visited had more to do with under-investment in assets, technical and staffing issues and little to do with the recently terminated energy state of disaster.

Electricity minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa says the issues plaguing the various power stations he visited had more to do with under-investment in assets, technical and staffing issues and little to do with the recently terminated energy state of disaster.

The minister's update included a comprehensive overview of his findings and the issues crippling these stations. Cabinet will be given a detailed report on these as well as the various options considered to solve the challenges. In another surprise move, finance minister Enoch Godongwana announced that National Treasury had temporarily withdrawn the gazetted exemption granted to Eskom, pending consultation with the office of the auditor-general .

“Essentially these two stations are too big to fail because you're going to see their impact on EAF across Eskom and the stages of load-shedding,” he said.

Which is why they made it so that Eskom didn't have to adhere to the PFMA regulations, now he has to ease the public into extreme spending at Eskom but periodically releasing statements like this one

Forward thinking and responsible project planning could have averted the countless inefficiencies experienced by ESKOM, a very long time ago. Unfortunately the anc in its lack of wisdom, elected to follow a path of no-return. To this day, we are in the midst of a severe crisis!

… 🧐 lets be reminded of the “re-appointment of Brian Molefe as CEO of Eishcom in 2017 (5 years ago) … which was in defiance of the ANC. 😡

What's happening

The appointment of Minister of Electricity is another form of reckless and wasteful expenditure by President Cyril Ramaphosa. Kgosientsho has already failed in his job because nothing has emproved since his appointment, instead he tells the nation to expect worse loadshedings.

He is part of the problem, corruption! We should be angry that they think we are so stupid to believe this cover-up!

Conviction bias: anything said with conviction must be true.

I dont see why you need a Minister to visit ESKOM power plants to ask managers what can they do make load shedding better. The ANC is just **ucking around with SAns.

Yes under investments in assets because the money gets looted....staffing issues because the qualified ones was dismissed...

Mr Electricity - was this part of your indiction course at Eishcom. “What is said at Eishcom stays at Eishcom”. Well ~ we all know and so does the world. Thanks to honourable people who walk the straight and narrow and who sleep well at night. Can you honestly say the same 😡

in other words, all the money has been stolen by Corruption! BEE is to blame for the getting rid of qualified engineers, so that inequality can be addressed? Maybe we should get the best person for the job, unfortunately most of those have emigrated! VoetsekANC

YES, because your party stole all the funds meant for the investment in assets because of corruption. The same corruption you deny. Jis, another corrupt cadre with a punchable face

Ask him if his 300k watch is on time.

We have known this for decades. What are you going to do to fix it and when is the arrests comming ?

.....and you think that is a new assessment, a new diagnosis of Eskom challenges? Politicians have all of us by 'balls'.

Ah. Nevermind the investments that were depleted through inflated pricing by vendors and staff colluding, nevermind the supply of sub-standard products that never worked to specification, nevermind the award to companies unable to fulfill the work…YAWN.

This man is cut from the same cloth as his president. The crap that comes out of his mouth is astonishing. Fraud, stealing, sabotage and incompetent appointments at ESKOM are THE main reasons for our crisis 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

SouthAfricansP1 Eish, thees cadre, he no thees elektrikal stuf ne?

These findings were already known

Cadre deployment and incompetence ANC members looting Eskom , 3 ministers must fired for not doing their job

Sit down traitor. Just another useless, dishonest ANC appointee.

Trading had been easy and smooth with BrianBerkefeld0 who is an outstanding resource for aspiring traders, ideally suited for both complete beginners and those who ars already up and running with their trading but need or want to improve it.

No shit sherlock

What he did show was that all but 2 power stations are basically kaput. He might add on kusile and koeberg in about a years time.

This guy really isn’t clever

This electricity guy was put in that position to annoy us. CyrilRamaphosa lack of knowlegde on how to govern is making our country and its people a joke...even to the low level criminals of other African nations...SA is just the perfect place to walk to, loot, distroy & move on.

Bright spark Need more investment to dief

Technical staff issues😡😡😡 Because your government got rid of the people that could actually fo the job😡😡😡

A giant step forward. Now we know for sure what we new before.

He was trying to impress us about his knowledge of what the current state is. That we all know already. No original thinking emerged from his deliberations. He passed a lot of hot air today - that's all.

He is saying something because something has to be said. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Where the f have you been living for the past 20years! This is old news

SoyabongaH An ANC stooge. I believe nothing he says except that it will be a cold winter.

Did corruption either just disappear or get forgotten? Or is he pulling a sleight of hand to take attention away from the fact?

Corruption

I think you have no idea of what you are talking about!
