GPT-5 isn’t being developed, but who cares when GPT-4 isn’t yet understood.

by many in the industry, including a number of signatories. Experts disagree about the nature of the threat posed by AI as well as how the industry might go about “pausing” development in the first place.

However, just because OpenAI is not working on GPT-5 doesn’t mean it’s not expanding the capabilities of GPT-4 — or, as Altman was keen to stress, considering the safety implications of such work. “We are doing other things on top of GPT-4 that I think have all sorts of safety issues that are important to address and were totally left out of the letter,” he said.Altman’s comments are interesting — though not necessarily because of what they reveal about OpenAI’s future plans.

Because of the overlap between the worlds of consumer tech and artificial intelligence, this same logic is now often applied to systems like OpenAI’s language models. This is true not only of the sort of hucksters who post hyperbolic 🤯 Twitter threads 🤯 predicting that superintelligent AI will be here in a matter of yearsbut also of more informed and sophisticated commentators.

Won't stop others from developing even more powerful LLMs...

Hmmm… that EXACTLY what GPT-5 would say 🤔

You might like ‘What Did OpenAI Do This Week?’

good to stop and think about fall out. many have this argument that AI cannot develop sense of self because it is not conscious. In Indian scriptures like Geeta or Budhhas's Dhammapad has been saying this for 2000 year..Ego is not conscious its part of matter what builds evrythin

🤔

GPT-5 is training himself

How would they squeeze the money

If you think ChatGPT is cool...imagine what the military has

They are training GPT 10

Are they scared now?

GPT 5 already holds them hostage

They maybe should now when the cry baby starts his own one.

Let’s give humanity a few more years of being free

I think they should go ahead with training GPT 5 at least they are honest with whatever they are doing..

4.5 🤣

But what does it actually mean to 'train' an AI? I had AI create a course for you to explain 🐙

but they can train GPT-4.5…

It's under training... It has already awakened... It is going to take away everything... ByeBye World

KnowItAll AI uses ChatGPT 4 but when 5 comes out, it will have it 😌

BS. It's an arms race.

In the future, AI will be training from AI generated information and data because humans won't do anything anymore 😆

1) AI Safety Paradigm – in general 'just because OpenAI is not working on GPT-5 doesn’t mean it’s not expanding the capabilities of GPT-4 — or, as Altman was keen to stress, considering the safety implications of such work'. The terms 'hack' or 'jailbreaking' do not appear in the…

Chat GPT-5 is probably training the CEO instead

they did manage to stop... the money does crazy stuff now this will take more time to grow just bc this affects to the wallets of somes

GPT4 still has some bugs and issues. Like misinformation, like hallucinations, like making up sources. We need to figure it out for the industry to progress.

maybe they been too fast compared to gov ai projects. so they can catch up wt it and get some advantage to private sectors

😐😐😐😐 why. We want progress, not stagnation

Congress just announced AI regulations are being worked out. Schumer released the first details. The entire tech industry probably froze their projects until they get a clearer idea of what restrictions they'll have to work within.

'some time' for AI is a couple months
