The City of Cape Town’s Mobile Business Hub recently held workshops with 250 local enterprises in Delft:

The City of Cape Town’s Mobile Business Hub recently held workshops with local enterprises in Delft.About 250 entrepreneurs received a full day of business courses, focusing on applications for informal trading bays, determining costs and pricing of products, marketing, application processes , as well as basic knowledge needed when applying for business finance.

As per the Invest Cape Town initiative, business owners could also network with representatives from City partners, including the Small Enterprise Development Agency, Small Enterprise Finance Agency, the Craft and Design Institute, and the National Youth Development Agency. The mobile business hub launched in March 2021 as a means to provide business support and resources to small enterprises across Philippi, Gugulethu, Durbanville, Belhar, Khayelitsha, Lotus River and Atlantis.

Alderman James Vos, mayoral committee member for economic growth, says Cape Town has gained the reputation as a start-up capital in Africa thanks to the accessibility and turn-around time of the City’s mobile business help desk. ‘A big part of this is the fact that the Business Hub goes to entrepreneurs in communities that often do not have the time or financial resources to make it to the helpdesk office in Cape Town CBD.
