With the prime interest rate at 14-year highs, there must be stress in the property market. I spoke with ooba COO Alan Rubin to get an update on the situation.I chatted with Ross Biggs from M&G Investments on the economy versus the stock market. Locally, and in Europe and the UK, economies don’t look great. But history shows us markets can still perform well under tough economies, and there are lots of great stocks at promising valuations available.

Reunert has been around since 1888 and I spoke with CEO Alan Dickson on recent results. ICT is doing okay, but load shedding hurts. However, defence, renewables and cabling are in exactly the right spot and doing very well, as the country desperately needs their products.Bitcoin has quietly been having a great 2023, up around 90% so far. I spoke with Christo de Wit, Luno’s country manager for SA, about the returns and the Bitcoin halving expected next year.
