“Texas is the headquarters of headquarters,” Gov. Greg Abbott said in a statement Monday. “With our strong and growing workforce and welcoming business climate, Texas is where businesses find the freedom to flourish and people find opportunities to prosper.” The Fortune 500 list includes a ranking of U.S.-headquartered companies by revenue, which is a boon for energy giants such as Exxon Mobil and pharmaceutical and medical supply firm McKesson , both based in Irving.
