Landlords and residents of Redstar Estate in the Magboro community, in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, have lamented t

The residents, while complaining over the development to our correspondents who visited the area to assess the condition of the road, said industrial activities by a fishing company situated in the community worsened the road residents use to navigate various areas in the community., a resident, Austin Ejeke, expressed fear that if the company’s industrial activities continue on the road without efforts to improve the condition of the road, the estate might be “locked out completely.

The Chairman of the Estate, Nelson Olayinka, said, “I moved into the estate in 2018, and what we were told was that the estate constructed that road from Magboro Market to the Buildwell area. After the dry season, we maintained that road. But a fishing company that said they are building a cold room destroyed the road.“Last weekend, when we expected that they would fix the road, we even saw more than 10 trucks with sand and other materials going into their premises.

Olayinka urged the management of the fishing company to fix the road to avoid a confrontation with residents. Contacted for a reaction, the manager of the fishing company, Ocean Lord Limited, Ahmad Farhat, said, “No blockade at all; last week, we were doing something, it is open,” the manager said. Asked if the company was making efforts to fix the road as sought by the residents, Ahmad said, “Yes, I am doing , I will do everything. I promised them. I will bring sand, I will bring a contractor. I will do it for myself also because this is my entrance, not only for them.”All rights reserved.
