The WC taxi industry has yet again accused the City of Cape Town of targeting its drivers and impounding taxis so they can generate revenue. More than 9 000 public transport vehicles, including 6 000 minivan taxis, have been impounded over the past year.

Drivers say the situation is affecting their livelihoods because they have to fork out money to pay fines that run into thousands of rands.
