William 'Bill' Hynes, who has ties to the '90s rock band Live, was charged with theft in York County last week.

A York County native was the CEO of a telecommunications company from which police say he stole more than $4 million over several years’ time.

William “Bill” Hynes, 51, of York, stole $4,392,517 from United Fiber and Data between 2017 and 2019, Pennsylvania State Police said. Hynes resigned as CEO in 2019, theHynes was charged on Aug. 16 with two counts of theft. He was released from custody Monday after posting $25,000 bail,State police said an investigation was launched in November 2020, when the president and CEO of United Fiber went to the state police’s York barracks to report four incidents of theft involving Hynes.
