U.K. stocks continue positive streak, rise for second day

Of the FTSE 100 constituents, pharmaceuticals company GSK PLC GSK, +4.03% saw the largest increase Friday, as shares rallied 4.03%.

Compass Group PLC CPG, +2.40%, a restaurants company, and publishing firm Pearson PLC PSON, +1.94% rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks rallied 2.40% and 1.94%, respectively. Shares of containers/packaging firm Smurfit Kappa Group PLC SKG, -3.17% and wired telecommunications services company BT Group PLC BT.A, -1.62% fell 3.17% and 1.62%, respectively.

The pound was up 0.03% against dollar GBPUSD, +0.02% at $1.2475 and was down 0.09% against the euro GBPEUR, -0.11% at €1.1649.
