Hyundai's sole motor vehicle assembly plant in the U.S. employs about 3,500 hourly and salaried workers.

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama celebrated the launch of the all-new 2022 Santa Cruz Sport Adventure Vehicle on Tuesday, June 22, 2021.Hyundai has created up to 22,200 jobs and generated $3.06 billion in earnings in Alabama, according to a new report.

According to the report, Hyundai and its independent dealers in 2021 added $20.1 billion in private earnings to the U.S. economy, including $2.8 billion in federal and state taxes. The plant also produces more than a half-million engines, some of which power vehicles made at Kia’s assembly plant in nearby West Point, Ga.

According to the report, about 22,200 direct and indirect jobs comes from Hyundai in Alabama, meaning that there are 3.9 additional jobs in Alabama for every worker hired by HMA and its dealer network in state.
