Of the FTSE 100 constituents, wholesalers company RS Group PLC RS1, +5.49% saw the largest increase Tuesday, as shares rallied 5.49%.

Ocado Group PLC OCDO, +3.74%, a food retail company, and diversified reits company British Land Co. PLC BLND, +3.39% rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks climbed 3.74% and 3.39%, respectively. Shares of food retail firm J Sainsbury PLC SBRY, -2.86% and technical services company Spirax-Sarco Engineering PLC SPX, -2.45% shed 2.86% and 2.45%, respectively.

The pound was down 0.37% against dollar GBPUSD, -0.34% at $1.2165 and 0.20% against the euro GBPEUR, -0.18% at €1.1506.
