fan, I’ll happily sing its praises until the cows come home. Charming, relatable and funny in equal measure, the Netflix series has hit a sweet spot with viewers who return season after season to catch up with their favourite characters… but why is no one talking about the real estate!? The beautiful wooden lodge Otis and his sex therapist mother, Jean, live in, has long been a favourite of mine – not least for its incredible interiors and waterside views.
Built in 1912 for use as a salmon fishing lodge, the property is of Norweigan design and boasts five bedrooms and three bathrooms set over three floors. Current owners acquired the property in 2002, when it underwent extensive renovations. The conservatory dining room was extended and most of the plumbing and wiring was replaced, as was the roof. A bespoke wood-painted kitchen was installed and the bathroom and shower rooms are contemporary in design.
On the ground floor, French windows open out onto the decked balconies along with three of the four bedrooms on the first floor. The second-floor bedroom suite is most attractive with vaulted ceilings, a separate sitting area and an en-suite bathroom, both overlooking the River Wye.
