The Senzo Meyiwa murder trial has been postponed to Monday to allow the defence counsel to study documents containing evidence from a cellphone analyst.
The state was expected to call the cellphone analyst on Wednesday after the cross-examination of Constable Sizwe Zungu was stood down. The defence however, raised concerns about the many volumes of documents which also have information on Lambertus Steyn who had previously testified. “Apparently, the defence counsels need time to go through the papers which were only delivered to them on Monday. This paper regards the downloading of information or data that relates to among others the cellphones of accused 2 and 5 and others and apparently to Mr. Mnisi that downloaded data is linked to data which was dealt with in this court by another analyst. They are trying to reconcile with that information and thereafter reconcile with their clients.
