Maria Ellina started Beauty Worx Aesthetics in 2019 in a small room near her kitchen and it has gone from strength to strength

A mum-of-two from West Lancashire now owns a £1m business after "starting from nothing" four years ago.

The 35-year-old, from Ormskirk, had to expand after just a few months due to a lack of space at her home and now consists of an 11-strong team. The successful business is now situated in the Arts Building of Burscough Wharf and spread across two floors.The trained nurse, who is mum to Oriah, aged two weeks, and Sonny, 13, told the ECHO: "I started in a small room near the kitchen and got a treatment coach.

"We have students such as plastic surgeons study with us from around the world. We are now looking at obtaining accommodation as we wish to further support our students with accommodation free of charge as many of travel from all over the country and internationally." "I am proud of myself as well as I built it up slowly, slowly. I have just had my baby but I have a manager who is managing and it is ticking over perfectly while I am off."
