External works at Lincoln's Central Market were delayed by Storm Babet, the council says.

No opening date has been set for the revamped market but stallholders will be able to move in once the site is transferred back to the council. Kate Ellis, the authority's director of major developments, said she was "incredibly excited by the work".But she said it had delayed work on the repaving of City Square."Weather dependent, we expect handover of these works to take place later in November," she added.

"We are incredibly excited by the work that's been undertaken over the past year in order to completely transform the building and surrounding areas."The scheme included plans for a new roof, an extension, a roof terrace and a new restaurant.
