Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will not receive a transfer warchest to improve his squad despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe's £245million proposed investment.
Last month, Sheikh Jassim informed United that he had pulled out of the club's takeover process following talks with the Glazer family. The Qatari businessman had been one of the frontrunners to take over after the American owners opened up the process. However, after lodging a fresh proposal, Jassim withdrew his bid.
The Brazil winger has struggled since his blockbuster £85m move. Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro were both signed by Ten Hag and made an impact last season, but neither have been able to have a similar contribution due to a mixture of injury and form this term. On Thursday, reports emerged that Ten Hag is dealing with a divided camp. The United squad are said to be unsure whether Ten Hag has dealt with the situations regarding Mason Greenwood, Jadon Sancho and Antony the right way.
