The indoor market features about two dozen vendors that organizers say have been carefully curated with more than half returning from previous years.

Lindy Evans and her daughter April Morris came to the Art and Market Aurora event Saturday morning in downtown Aurora in search of their favorite vendor and more. “This is my first time here,” Lindy Evans of Batavia said at the market offered by the Aurora Downtown group at Society 57 at 100 S. River St. in downtown Aurora. “One of the vendors - Torta de Paula - is in the Batavia market every Saturday and so we followed them here. We found out they were part of this market.

She said the market has vendors offering “unique gifts which make it really special and it’s a great way to support local people as well. The market, Amoni said, typically draws more than 200 visitors for each session. Evans said “the vendors are very passionate about what they make and what they create,” something that was seen in the work of Aurora resident Monica Ionutas, who owns Romanian Sweet and Savory Corner.
