Nobody was injured during the robbery

Wearing balaclavas while wielding a knife and hammer, two males threatened staff at a business in Deepwater Quay, before making off with a sum of money.They are both scheduled to appear in court this evening charged in connection with the robbery.

A garda spokesman said: "On the 21/03/19 at approximately 12pm two males wearing balaclavas and armed with a knife and hammer entered a business at Deepwater Quay in Sligo."Garda investigating the robbery conducted searches and arrested a 19 year old male and a 24 year old male in the Sligo area on the afternoon of the 21/03/19.

"They were detained under the provisions of Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Ballymote Garda Station."Both males are scheduled to appear before a special sitting of Sligo District Court at 7.30pm this evening charged in connection with the robbery."
