A man is facing a first-degree felony charge after allegedly attempting to sell THC oil, marijuana, and psilocybin mushrooms at a "pop-up market" in southeast Austin. Brandon Ross, 39, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute after a traffic stop on Friday, March 8. According to court documents, police found over 5,000 grams of THC oil, 8 ounces of marijuana, and psilocybin mushrooms in his vehicle.
The arrest occurred during a joint operation between the Austin Police Department and Texas DPS targeting illicit drug sales at the SXSW festival. Officers observed Ross leaving a suspected "pop-up" drug market on Thompson Lane and loading plastic totes into his car, court documents said
