YARMOUTH, N.S. — Danielle Mahood recons she has been in business since she was about 12 years old. Even from a young age, she considered herself an entrepreneur — always making and drawing things to sell. Then, as a young teen she started advertizing for portrait commissions.
After high school she then decided to take graphic design in college as a way to have a career in art. Although she still works with lots of clients providing graphic design work it is not her primary form of art. One of Mahood’s older, less advertised murals can be found in the Yarmouth Hospital’s day surgery waiting room. It was created to give children a sense of ease before going into what might be a stressful procedure for them. Once in awhile someone spots her signature on that one and sends her a picture of it.A sample of Yarmouth, N.S., artist Danielle Mahood's work. Contributed
