Dangote Group has denied creating an artificial intelligence (AI) tool to help Nigerians trade in the crypto and stock market.

In a deep fake video, a broadcaster on Channels TV said Aliko Dangote has developed an artificial intelligence platform that allows a trader to generate money automatically. The businessman purportedly announced a minimum investment of N250,000 to get the system working and start making profitable trades in the stock and cryptocurrency market. Also, Channels TV said the video was doctored.

The media organisation in a statement said scammers are promoting unverified and dubious investment schemes with the company’s identity.“It has come to our attention that scammers involved in promoting unverified and dubious investment schemes have doctored visuals from Channels Television and are using the same visuals and the Channels’ identity to give some form of credibility to their criminal activity,” Channels TV said.

“In this instance, the fraudsters doctored visuals from an episode of our programme Lunchtime Politics, which aired last week, and undated doctored footage of the Chairman Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, in their attempt to promote an investment scheme.” The media organisation said a voice narrative was added over footage of its anchor and Dangote giving the impression that the promoted scheme is genuine.Click on the link below to join TheCable Channel on WhatsApp for your Breaking News, Business Analysis, Politics, Fact Check, Sports and Entertainment News!
