Communications and multimedia minister says that the move will also help enhance innovation in the country.

The decision of five British technology firms to invest in Malaysia is a sign of growing confidence in the economy, Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo said today.

"As Malaysia continues to implement technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics and cybersecurity, the investment of more UK tech companies to Malaysia highlights their confidence that the country is moving in the right direction. "I also hope these investments will open up prospects for businesses in both countries, and help ensure we maximise the benefits of technology for our societies and nation," he said.

Mitra Innovation, meanwhile, is working in collaboration with a Malaysian partner to modernise the tech ecosystem by using AI to improve cybersecurity.
