A UK house with a starting price at auction of just £1 ended up selling for a six-figure sum despite being 'grimy'.
Belongings left by the previous tenants – some of which were from the 1990s – were scattered throughout the building and no room appeared to be in a fit state to live in. And in an Instagram post, Pattison added: "We are pleased to say we have a very HAPPY SELLER due to the fantastic work of our auction team, and we have achieved the seller a whopping £100,000 for this pair of flats after almost 100 bids from interesting parties!"
The living room contained piles of broken furniture and rubbish – with no carpet visible whatsoever thanks to the mess. A framed picture of Jesus sat on the floor of the room, which had also been littered with vinyl records, CDs and board game boxes.
