Four people were killed after the vehicle they were travelling in crashed on the R59 freeway before the Klipriver Road off-ramp, east of Johannesburg.
The City of Ekurhuleni Rescue Team found the vehicle with the four victims several metres from the road. Spokesperson William Ntladi says, “On arrival, they found a single vehicle around several metres away from the road on the R59, all four occupants were laying around the vehicle, unfortunately on assessment, all of them were declared deceased by paramedics. The cause of the crash is still undetermined and is still under the investigation of EMPD.”In the Eastern Cape, two drivers have been killed in a collision between a minibus and a car on the N2 at Payne near Mthatha.
The provincial Transport spokesperson Unathi Binqose says there were three people in the minibus. One person was injured and taken to hospital.“The rate at which our people are dying on our roads is something of concern.
