Stock futures were little changed ahead of Friday's opening bell with US stocks on pace for their best week of the year.

On Friday, US investors will have a quiet calendar ahead of them, with the University of Michigan's latest reading on consumer sentiment set to be the main calendar-based event.

Investors have also now pared back some of their more dramatic bets on rate cuts from the Federal Reserve this year. Markets are digesting the latest reading on consumer sentiment, economists had expected a reading of 66.6, a slight increase over last month. Housing starts were released this morning, with expectations calling for 1.34 million. The Federal Reserve remains in focus following a week of key inflation data. Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee will speak later today, potentially giving more insight into the possibility of an interest rate cut in September.
