Pub car parks are usually quiet first thing on a Saturday morning, with locals still tucked up in bed recovering from one too many pints the night before. The White Horse Inn in Ruddington, however, is a hub of colour and movement as people set up stalls for the monthly market.
When I arrived and spent about half-an-hour carefully manoeuvring my van into a very tiny parking space, on The Green. From freshly-made sausage rolls and generous slabs of fudge to handcrafted wooden stools and sparkling crystal jewellery, this market was overflowing with carefully curated crafts and locally-made treats, perfect for a Saturday morning stroll. One of my favourite parts of working at markets like this has always been taking the chance to look around all the other stalls.
