4G mobile internet and phone coverage, as well as home broadband, appears to have been affected

Irish customers are suffering from a loss of signal and other services as communications firm Vodafone confirmed it is investigating a "potential outage".Downdetector.ie says that recent reports are mostly originating from Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Tullamore, Kilkenny, Drogheda, Clonmel, Mullingar,and Waterford.Customers have taken to social media to vent their frustration at the situation.

One said: "Any update on the data outage? No data on the phone in Dundrum Dublin. 4G symbol is displaying." Another added: "Is there a problem with service in the Dublin 22 area, 4g symbol on but not connecting."They said: "We are currently investigating a potential outage to our fixed and mobile services.But several people were unimpressed with the message, claiming the issue was not "potential" but "actual".
