Published: Dec. 19, 2024, 6:18 a.m. John Benson, special to cleveland.com PARMA, Ohio -- Roughly a decade after the Parma YMCA closed its doors, the Ridge Road building is set for demolition. Developer Flicore, which owns Quarry Square on Snow Road, is planning to build a roughly $4 million multi-business structure featuring a McAlister’s Deli and a First Watch restaurant, as well as the second UH Urgent Care Parma.
“We’ve always been intrigued with (the property),” Flicore Executive Vice President Robert T. Abramovich said. “And we’re long on Parma, we’ve redeveloped the Midtown Plaza, which is now Quarry Square. We’ve had a great working relationship with the city of Parma. “The timing was right with the opportunity and the list of tenants. It’s kind of just the right time, right place. We’re going to tear down the YMCA here over the next few weeks or months. We’ll be coming back with about a 12,000-square-foot building.” The current schedule includes construction going vertical in the spring with all businesses open in calendar year 2025. While McAlister’s Deli and First Watch were previously announced as part of the development, UH Urgent Care Parma is a new addition with UH Parma Medical Center located nearby.“UH is expanding their urgent care footprint and really trying to go into more retail-oriented locations,” he said. “They’re going into more traditional retail spaces that position themselves more in the everyday, day-to-day traffic of the consumer versus being tucked in an office building or in a hospital facility.” Speaking of Quarry Square, the developer recently added the aforementioned UH Urgent Care Parma, as well as Chipotle, Ross Dress For Less and Five Below. “We’re working on three additional leases that would fill some vacancies there,” he said. “We probably have in the neighborhood of 30,000 square feet, but these three tenants will gobble up probably more than half of tha
