Tyson Fury is facing a significant financial hit after his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk. While he's expected to earn around £60 million, nearly half will be swallowed up by UK taxes.

Tyson Fury is expected to lose almost half of his earnings from his highly anticipated rematch with Oleksandr Usyk. The 36-year-old boxer is reportedly set to pocket around £60million from his fight against the Ukrainian in Saudi Arabia. Usyk, 37, triumphed over Fury in their initial encounter in May, clinching a split-decision victory. If the WBA, WBO and WBC heavyweight champion of the world secures another win, it won't be the only loss for Fury.

The British boxer is also predicted to lose a significant portion of his earnings before he even has the opportunity to spend it. According to data analysts with JeffBet, the taxman will take just over £28m of Fury's prize money due to income tax and national insurance obligations when he returns to the UK. In total, approximately 47% of his prize money will have to be paid to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs. He will have to pay around £28,188,213.60 in tax and an additional £1,202,010.60 in National Insurance. A spokesperson from JeffBet said: 'If you are a resident in the UK you have to pay tax on overseas earnings in the same way, and that remains the same no matter how much someone might earn. 'Good tax advice is always important and in this case you can be sure the Fury camp will have looked at an agreement that would be the most beneficial.' Usyk and Fury are dividing a fight purse believed to be worth a staggering £150m. Due to his victory in the first match, Usyk is expected to receive a larger share of the pot, estimated to be around 60%. Despite the potential for a hefty payday, Fury has had all of his focus locked on the Ukrainian. He recently disclosed that he hasn't spoken to his wife Paris for three months to maintain the right mental state
