Malaysian police are investigating the arrest of a Malaysian citizen by Thai authorities in connection with two investment schemes, Nicshare and CommonApps, resulting in losses of over RM8.5 million. Police chief Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said 26 police reports have been received regarding these investments, with losses totaling about RM8.5 million. Investigations are underway under Section 420 of the Penal Code for fraud, as well as under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act (AMLATFPUAA 2001).

PETALING JAYA: Polis Diraja Malaysia menjalankan siasatan penahanan seorang rakyat Malaysia oleh pihak berkuasa Thailand membabitkan dua skim pelaburan iaitu Nicshare dan CommonApps mengakibatkan kerugian lebih RM8.5 juta.

Katanya, ia membabitkan 24 laporan polis berkaitan pelaburan Nicshare dengan jumlah kerugian RM8.2 juta, manakala dua lagi membabitkan pelaburan CommonApps dengan kerugian RM340,079. “Beberapa individu dan entiti berkaitan sudah didakwa namun siasatan masih diteruskan,” katanya dalam kenyataan hari ini.

Terdahulu, media melaporkan pihak berkuasa Thailand telah membongkar sindiket penipuan utama melakukan pengubahan wang haram lebih 5 bilion baht melalui rangkaian transaksi palsu.
