A man suffered facial injuries after being assaulted by a group of people at a Belfast food market over the weekend.

A man was assaulted by a number of people inside a licensed premises in Belfast city centre, understood to be Common Market on Dunbar Street, at around 10.45pm on Saturday, December 21. The victim sustained injuries to his neck, face, and body. Police have issued an appeal for information following the incident. Sergeant Green said: “At approximately 10.45pm, it was reported that the victim was assaulted by a number of people inside the venue and sustained injuries to his neck, face and body.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the assault or to anyone with footage that could assist with our investigation, to contact police on 101 quoting reference 786 22/12/24.” A report can be made using the online reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport.
