Dafydd Bayliss was thrilled to be told he had won £18,000 in an online competition

A 31 year old HGV driver was left devastated after his dream win turned into a nightmare. Dafydd Bayliss won the choice of either a BMW M3 or £18,000 cash in an online competition hosted by Sowerby Bridge-based Level Up Giveaways in September.

His hope of ever receiving the prize has dwindled to just a "5 per cent chance". He admitted: "I have just gone numb to it." Other disgruntled winners have come forward with similar experiences, including Phill Harkins of Manchester who secured a 20g gold bar, and Mark McCorry, a Belfast restaurant manager, who was due £600 - both told of unreceived prizes and a lack of communication.

An apology emerged from a video update on December 6 by Mr Hall, who cited personal and professional tribulations for the disrupted service and promised to renew operations, yet fell short of setting a date for honouring outstanding commitments.
