Remington Arms Company asked the Supreme Court to take up a lawsuit next term brought by a survivor and families of nine other victims of the Sandy Hook tragedy in 2012 who argue the gun manufacturer should be held partly responsible for the mass shooting

Remington Arms Company asked the Supreme Court Thursday to take up a lawsuit next term brought by a survivor and families of nine other victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in 2012 who argue the gun manufacturer should be held partly responsible for the mass shooting.

The company is asking the justices to reverse the Connecticut Supreme Court that ruled in March 2019 that the lawsuit brought by the victims could go forward. A 2005 federal law protects many gun manufacturers from wrongful death lawsuits brought by grieving family members. But the Sandy Hook plaintiffs are seeking a way around the law by targeting the company's marketing strategy.

The weapon itself does not shoot, a man shoots from it! More responsibility and attention to behavior.

They won’t take the case. It’s a ridiculous lawsuit.

Citizens of Chicago and other affected areas should join forces with victims of Sandyhook shooting.

Remington, shouldn't be held liable to begin with!!

Let’s hold ford and Budweiser accountable for the next drunk driving fatality. Let’s hold knive and Steel makers accountable for stabbings. Let’s hold be keepers responsible for the next anaphylactic shock death after a bee sting allergy. See how dump this sounds?

Absolutely zero chance the Supreme Court will say the manufacturer is responsible

Deliver the news not an opinion.
