The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) filed on Thursday criminal charges against five corporations for alleged failure to file returns and refusal to settle tax debts totaling to almost P83 million.

This brought to 496 the number of tax evasion cases filed by Revenue Commissioner Caesar Dulay since he assumed the BIR post in 2016.
